    Derek SquareDerek DeSantis is a mathematician in CCS-2, working on machine learning (ML) problems in the climate sciences.  He works on the mathematical theory for ML, with particular focus on tensor factorizations and Koopman operator theory. He has applied these tools to study a multitude of climate problems, ranging from AMOC and high latitude feedbacks to sparse sensor interpolation.
